Job Summary:

Prepare materials to support research projects at Oklahoma State University.  Maintenance and upgrade of materials preparation equipment, introduce new techniques in materials preparation.  Instruction of materials preparation lab course.

Education & Experience

Position Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Physics/Materials Science/related field, seven years' laboratory research experience, or MS and five years demonstrated laboratory experience, demonstrated skills relevant to current research.

CVD, PECVD, PVD, X-ray and ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy experience is critical. Experience with Bridgman growth furnace; czochraski furnace (1 heated by resistance and the other by RF induction); reactive atmosphere processing furnace for halides and one for fluoride crystals; mechanical vacuum pumps and oil diffusion pumps; Veeco helium leak detector; low speed diamond saws; low humidity glove box; electronic balances.  Experience with chemical handling, vacuum equipment handling, computer & instrumentation handling as well as electrical work.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ph.D./Ed.D. in Physics/Materials Science or related field and six years materials experience.
