Job Summary:

This is an 11-month, tenured faculty and administrative position with responsibility of providing vision and leadership for water related research, Extension, and education programs at Oklahoma State University (OSU). In addition to the primary role of leading the Oklahoma Water Resources Center, the Director will also provide leadership to multi-investigator, multi-disciplinary, and multi-institutional faculty teams assembled from across colleges and institutes at OSU in pursuit of water-related research and Extension grant opportunities. The Oklahoma Water Resources Center is located in the Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources at Oklahoma State University (DASNR); other water-related projects may be in partnership with units from any part of OSU. The Director will report jointly to the OSU Vice President for DASNR and the OSU Vice President for Research. 

The Water Center is supported through funds provided by the United States Geological Survey, Oklahoma Agricultural Experiment Station, Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service, the OSU Vice President for Research, and the Thomas E. Berry Professorship in Water Research and Management. The objectives of the Oklahoma Water Resources Center are to support research on all topics related to understanding and managing Oklahoma water resources; provide education and training opportunities for water specialists, professionals, and students; provide outreach to all citizens and information transfer in the Oklahoma water resource community; and facilitate team-building to provide solutions to water issues.

More than 75 faculty members from all academic departments in DASNR and several other colleges at Oklahoma State are affiliate members of the Center. Additionally, other research institutions of higher education partner with the Center through funded projects. This group provides expertise in plants, soils, and ecosystems; water conservation; land use and water quality; and economics and policy.

11 month faculty position. Appointment period is academic year - July 1 through May 31 

Will require hours to include some early mornings, evenings, and/or weekends to meet responsibilities. 

Travel required, travel budget provided.

The candidate should be eligible for tenure within one of the Departments of the Division of Agricultural Science and Natural Resources at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. The individual should have experience and knowledge of research and Extension on water resource issues in agriculture and natural resources. Evidence of successful grantsmanship is required. Evidence of leadership and experience in building teams and fostering relationships is desired. 

Valid driver's license

The candidate should be eligible for tenure within one of the Departments of the Division of Agricultural Science and Natural Resources at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. The individual should have experience and knowledge of research and Extension on water resource issues in agriculture and natural resources. Evidence of successful grantsmanship is required. Evidence of leadership and experience in building teams and fostering relationships is desired.
