Job Summary: This position is located at the Cleveland County Extension Office, Norman, Oklahoma. Provides leadership and management for the overall county 4-H youth development program. The youth program includes a wide range of opportunities designed to foster positive youth participation and development. Approximately 90% of time is focused on youth development work with the remaining time spent programming in subject area for adult programs compatible with educational background.

Participates as a cohesive team member to involve local clientele and advisory groups to plan, implement, and evaluate the total Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service (OCES) county program.
Extension educators comply with all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, etc., related to equal opportunity, civil rights, and affirmative action.

Extension educators are hired into the organization not into a specific geographic location. It is possible that future circumstances may require relocation.

Continuation of employment is based upon need, performance and available county funding.

*This is an exempt position (which indicates that the position is exempt from overtime pay/comp time accrual). According to OSU policy, a 40-hour workweek is considered minimal for exempt staff and you are expected to work hours in excess of 40 hours per week when the work load requires additional hours (to include some early mornings, evenings and/or weekends).
*Requires travel within assigned county and district. Occasional overnight travel is required. Travel budget provided.
*Must establish and maintain a domicile in employing county.

Education & Experience
Position Qualifications: Required:

Bachelor's Degree in Agric., Fam. & Con. Sci., Educ., Soc. Sci. or closely related.

The Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service is seeking to fill entry level educator positions. Base annual salary for entry level educators who have a master's degree is $37,000 ($3084/mo) and $34,000($2834/mo) with a bachelor's degree. Starting salary is based upon education and prior relevant work experience.

Extension educators hired with only a bachelor's degree are encouraged to work toward completion of an approved master's degree.

Master's Degree in Agric., Fam. & Con. Sci., Educ., Soc. Sci. or closely related.

Success in planning, implementing, and evaluating learning experiences for youth and/or adults in community-based, non-formal education programs is desired.

Previous experience in Cooperative Extension or closely related work is desirable.
