Job Summary:

Provide classroom, clinical and college laboratory instruction for students enrolled in the upper-division Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. Work with diverse populations and faculty and students at a distant location.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide clinical instruction for groups of approximately 8 to 10 students. Generic students are to be supervised by a faculty member at all times when in the clinical setting. Faculty members supervising upper division RN students in more than one location are responsible for advising agency personnel with written objectives for the assigned experience. Interpret the program and the objectives as necessary. Serve as a positive professional role model for nursing students. Evaluate students' learning based on established criteria and professional nursing standards. Maintain open communication with coordinator and course instructor. Advise course coordinator of schedule or clinical changes. Collaborate with coordinator/course instructor to evaluate clinical agencies. Contribute to faculty unity by supporting and encouraging peers. Recruit students for nursing program.

Position Qualifications:

Competency/Position Requirements:

Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to work well with others, demonstrated teaching effectiveness, ability to function autonomously and effectively in a demanding environment, good attention to detail, and commitment to the philosophy and mission of Langston University.

Required Education and/or Experience:

Master's degree and licensed or eligible for license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oklahoma. Earned doctorate preferred. Two years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse. Two or more years of teaching experience in a health professions specialty. Certified Nurse Educator credential preferred. Eligible or unrestrictive Oklahoma RN license. Ability to work cooperatively within a team structure.
