Job Summary:

The incumbent leads and manages the development, implementation and evaluation of nation and state-wide professional development programs for the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology and the OSU OSHA Training Institute Education Center.  This includes establishing program goals and objectives, creating a positive, team-centered working environment, managing the organizational budget, and establishing and maintaining positive relationships with staff, faculty, stakeholders, and customers.  The incumbent is responsible for the establishment and continuous evaluation of program performance to maintain the overall quality, productivity, and financial success of Professional Development.  The incumbent works directly with local, area, state, and national entities to determine and meet specific professional development/continuing education needs.  The incumbent is responsible for oversight, accuracy, and timely submission of program activity and fiscal performance data and information.  This is a working manager who is actively engaged in day-to-day operations when necessary.

Education & Experience

Position Qualifications:

Required Qualification:

Bachelor's degree in Adult/Vocational Education, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Marketing, Management, and another related field.

Five (5) years in management, development, and marketing of technical adult and continuing education programs to diverse disciplines.  Demonstrated experience working in a team environment.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent budgeting, planning, leadership, and organizational skills. Ability to establish program goals, work with customer and stakeholder groups, and participate as a member of a team. Ability to resolve conflicts pertaining to application of organization policies and procedures. Proven ability to market adult training and education programs and expand and diversify sources of revenue. Proven ability to take initiative in leadership of organization and create a positive, team-centered work environment. Proven ability to analyze organizational and business problems, identify potential solutions, and take action to resolve the problem.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in Adult/Vocational Education, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Marketing, Management, and another related field. Seven (7) years in management and marketing of technical adult and continuing education programs.

Certifications, Registrations, or Licenses: Professional Engineer license and Adult instructor certification are preferred.

Proven experience expanding extension/outreach adult continuing education programs in post-secondary institutions so that programs result in positive revenue to the organization.
