M-F, 7:30a-4:30p (may vary)

Full-time temporary position as an Archivist in the OSU Institute of Technology Library.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sort, organize, and arrange mixed-material and born-digital collections related to the history of the institution.
  • Assess for sensitive materials and preservation needs.
  • Create descriptive finding aids using ArchivesSpace in accordance with DACS and other accepted archival standards.
  • Perform basic preservation work such as fastener removal, unfolding and flattening materials and rehousing in acid-free folders and boxes.
  • Assists the Library Director in the development of archival collection management procedures, policies, and systems including those related to any digital preservation solution purchased or built in-house.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Masters degree in library or information science or a relevant field.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant professional archival experience.
  • Demonstrates a history of ethical and professional behavior.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Must be flexible, innovative, and self-motivated.
  • Valid Oklahoma driver’s license will be required if conducting the functions of the position requires the use of a personal or university vehicle.
  • Normal office physical environment; ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
