About Us: The mission of the Community Nutrition Education Programs (CNEP) is to educate and empower limited-resource families and youth to improve nutrition and physical activity behaviors.

CNEP encompasses the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed), known as the Oklahoma Nutrition Education (ONE) program in our state. Our nutrition lessons focus on diet quality, food safety, physical activity, food security and food resource management.

* This position is located in Muskogee, Oklahoma at the NE District Extension Office. Provides leadership to the nutrition education programs in Okmulgee, Adair, and Muskogee counties. Assigned geographic area may be subject to future changes. This position is funded with a combination of grant and federal dollars.
* Leadership/supervision duties include: 1) nutrition education; 2) program management; 3) human resource management; 4) fiscal management; and 5) public relations.
* Requires compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, etc., related to equal opportunity, civil rights, and affirmative action.
* Travel required within assigned district. Occasional overnight travel. Travel budget provided.
* Continuation of employment is based upon need, performance, and available funding.

Education & Experience

Position Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor's in Human Sciences or related field.

*Prior employment in a related position.
*Experience conducting educational programs.
*Experience managing employees and programs.
*Knowledge or experience related to nutrition through the life cycle and/or family and consumer sciences (home economics).
*Experience working with computers/internet based programs.
*Starting salary is based upon education and prior relevant work experience.  

Valid driver's license and access to vehicle with current liability insurance.  

*Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*Ability to respond positively to supervision.
*Ability to read, write, and speak the appropriate language of program participants and effectively facilitate educational sessions.
*Ability to complete required program reports.
*Ability to analyze the conditions and needs of participants and make recommendations.
*Ability to relate to target audience in order to convey key educational messages.
*Ability to effectively manage time, resources, personnel, and adapt well to changing priorities, situations and day to day demands.  

Preferred:

Master's in Human Science, Nutrition or closely related field such as health. 

*Previous work experience with the Cooperative Extension Service experience is highly desirable.

*Experience conducting educational programs for low-income adults and youth.

Federal Vaccine Mandate
