Job
Summary:
|
Headquartered in OSU Agricultural Communications Services, this individual reports to the assistant director and works closely with the department's director, as well as the associate vice president of OSU Extension, to develop and implement appropriate content across multiple communications and marketing platforms to highlight OSU Extension within the OSU community as well as the state, region and country.
Execute integrated communications and marketing campaigns and strategies from idea inception to delivery to elevate the profile of OSU Extension, improve target audience experiences, drive engagement and achieve stated project goals.
Work with OSU Agriculture's creative and digital managers to further establish and broaden the branding, design, aesthetic strategy, voice and tone, visual imagery and content resources for Extension related campaigns and promotional pieces. Incorporate graphic design and layout elements for multimedia efforts on the web, social media, brochures, magazines, posters and related materials.
Initiate and oversee paid advertising as well as overall audience strategy. Develop and coordinate the Extension marketing agenda and calendar. Work with Extension personnel statewide to execute the strategy and tactics in order to achieve campaign goals. Develop and execute distribution of HTML newsletters, as well as content appropriate for web, digital and social media platforms.
Demonstrate creativity, knowledge of communications/marketing and aligning content with audience needs. Ability to work cross functionally with supervisors, unit staff and partners across the state to meet goals. Must learn quickly, be deadline-driven and adapt quickly to changing environments. Excellent leadership, team, written and verbal interpersonal communications and presentation skills are required. This job requires a high level of internal and external public contact.
Collaborate with others in Agricultural Communications Services and OSU Extension to promote, publicize and otherwise generate positive visibility for the activities and programs of OSU Extension. Other duties as assigned. The duty reporting station is on the OSU campus in Stillwater. Some travel is required.

Qualifications:

Required: Bachelor's degree in agricultural communications, strategic communications, mass communication, journalism, marketing, graphic design, public relations or related field.
Three years of experience in communications or marketing. Strategic communications and marketing, writing, digital storytelling or related skills. Oklahoma driver's license or ability to obtain an Oklahoma driver's license within 30 days of hire. Duty reporting is in-person on the OSU campus in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Expertise in creating integrated communications and marketing campaigns and strategies from idea inception to delivery.
Strong creative and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with a wide range of people and programs.
Possess excellent organizational skills, be able to visualize concepts, communicate and interpret goals and effectively deal with multiple contacts or stakeholders for projects. Demonstrate creativity, knowledge of communications and aligning content with audience needs. Ability to work under deadline, both within a strategic communications team, as well as independently. Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Adobe software including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. Knowledge of graphic design and printing technology. Knowledge of HTML newsletter platforms, video, still photography and project management systems is preferred.
Knowledge of agriculture is a preferred.
