Job Summary:

The digital marketing coordinator will support the overall digital media strategy for OSU Agriculture. This includes working with the social media marketing coordinator, the editorial coordinator and the integrated digital strategies team to develop digital materials and campaigns to push forward timely topics that fit within the brand of OSU Agriculture. Maintain an eye for detail and deliver on deadline. Understand current trends in digital media and how to effectively reach target audiences using data-driven analytics. Monitor social media channels during some evenings and weekends.

Create content for various platforms using photography, videography, design and other media. Create and maintain web materials based on analytics and trends. Write and edit copy for digital materials, including social media captions, digital advertisement copy, website copy and other stories as assigned. Proofread and copy-edit content used for digital purposes. Work with the team to develop digital campaigns with respect to social media, website, email marketing, digital advertising and more.

Assist digital manager in supervising student employees. Oversee projects for undergraduate interns regarding digital content development. Assign projects and review completed tasks to ensure accuracy and consistency. Collaborate with others in the Agricultural Communications Services unit to promote, publicize and generate positive visibility for the activities and programs of OSU Agriculture. Other duties as assigned.

Duty reporting station is on the OSU campus in Stillwater. Some travel required. Travel budget provided.

Education & Experience

Position Qualifications:

Required: 

 Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, strategic communications, mass communication, marketing, graphic design, agricultural communications or related field.

Six months of experience as a graphic designer or communicator in a professional agency or creative/communications role. Internships count toward experience.

Oklahoma driver’s license or ability to obtain an Oklahoma driver’s license within 30 days of hire. Duty reporting is in-person on the OSU campus in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

The successful candidate will have proven experience coordinating social/digital media and be a results-oriented strategic thinker. They will possess excellent communications skills and self-direction and creativity in managing the organization’s presence in the digital world. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of digital media and email marketing; knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite programs, including Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop; Associated Press style; photography and photo editing skills; and Microsoft Office programs, including PowerPoint, Word and Excel. Understanding of agriculture is preferred.
