Job Summary:

Assist the Oklahoma Water Resources Center (OWRC) with development, implementation, and administration of projects and programs addressing critical water issues in Oklahoma and beyond.  

This is considered a non-exempt position. 

Office hours should not exceed 40 hours per week. Any deviation from regularly scheduled office hours requires pre-approval from your supervisor. 

Hours may vary to include some evening and weekend time. Some travel may be required.  

Requires field work which may have some inherent dangers associated with being in creeks or the outdoors.  

Ability to lift 35 lbs.

Education & Experience

Position Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor's in Agricultural Science, Engineering, Environmental Science, Water Management, or closely related 

3 years of related professional experience. 

No experience necessary with Master's degree in relevant field.  

Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication and public speaking skills, good computer skills, superior organizational skills. Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others. Working knowledge of monitoring systems and experimental design.

Ability to travel as necessary to perform monitoring and assessment, participate in relevant meetings, and coordinate stakeholder groups/efforts.  

Preferred:

Master's in Agricultural Science, Engineering, Environmental Science, Water Management, or closely related  

Two or more years relevant professional experience with grant writing, project management, water quality monitoring, data analysis, and stakeholder coordination, in addition to the required experience.  

Skills in report writing and developing competitive grant proposals; ability to develop and deliver educational programs; knowledge of water management in Oklahoma; proficiency in GIS mapping and assessment; statistical assessment of environmental data; and an understanding of Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service and Oklahoma Agricultural Experiment Station project administration. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision desired.
