Job Summary: Upholding the values and mission of the institution, the Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions supports a dynamic leadership team for a staff of 50+ professional staff members and 40+ student staff. The associate director will:

* represent the department, collaborating with other associate director, in the absence of the director including required decision-making, attending appropriate meetings on behalf of the department, and represent the director and/or department to the campus community and external constituents including the OSU Foundation and OSU Alumni Association. Ensure that daily operations, services, university alliances and external relationships are maintained.

* be enthusiastic and strategic, utilizing solid, contemporary research and knowledge of admissions mission, programs, and governing statutes. Shall emphasize individual attention, a high quality service delivery model and robust assessment.

* report to the Director; manage the units responsible for direct student service including all outreach efforts. Functional areas include, but not necessarily limited to: off-site and on-site recruitment including campus experience via tours and events, campus representation at college fairs, high school visits, off-campus events; training, consistent and effective messaging by all outreach staff.

* collaborate with director and other associate director to implement: long-term information management and technology strategies to positively impact enrollment goals and; work environment and resources strategies for employee professional development, efficient and proactive work habits, and commitment to team work.

* assist the Director of Undergraduate Admissions in performing essential budget planning and monitoring for departmental salary and maintenance budget.

*initiate, build and maintain positive working relationships with EBM partners, Oklahoma Board of Regents, OSU-Tulsa, OSU Graduate College, OSU Academic Colleges, and colleges/universities in the A&M system, Big 12 Conference and other peer institutions. Provide leadership for strategies supported by data related to successful recruitment/admissions functions.

Some weekend and evening activities will be required in order to meet the needs of prospective students and parents.

Ability to lift 45 lbs.(box of recruiting materials).

Education & Experience
Position Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:

Master's Degree.

5 years' experience in higher education setting.
Leadership in building collaborative, outcome-focused teams to communicate goals and implement initiatives. A team-oriented attitude with attention to detail and superior organizational skills. Demonstrated commitment to a mission driven organization that includes creative visioning and commitment to service.

Strategic planning, implementation and management experience maximizing short- and long-term organizational goals and objectives.

Demonstrated success in upholding national, state and institutional standards, best practices, policies and procedures.

Success in building and sustaining client or constituent relationships resulting in measurable, positive outcomes.

Demonstrated strong presentation, writing, problem solving, and public relations skills.

Minimum 5 years post baccalaureate experience to include both broad supervisory responsibilities and process management.

Must have valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidate must possess a minimum of five years of experience in an admission or enrollment management leadership role as well as a minimum of 2 years of experience in the supervision and development of professional full-time staff.

Demonstrated ability to develop and implement admission and recruitment strategies, policies and procedures for short-term and long-term organizational objectives and goals.

Admissions Counselor experience with recruitment territory responsibilities.

Working with campus constituents to implement enrollment initiatives including communicating goals and building collaborative, goal-focused relationships.

Strategic planning to maximize recruitment efforts and admissions practices including staffing strategies, front-line service, and admission evaluation. Communication funnel management, CRM and SIS database experience.

Seasoned, successful full-time staff management. Managerial style shall blend sense of urgency with thoughtful, analytical, proactive planning and implementation. Strong collaboration skills coupled with ability to be decisive. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated commitment to team work including formal and informal leadership. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds. Mission driven in advocating for higher education.

Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities. Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, direction, and supervision in outreach activities, tours and events to meet department recruitment, outreach, program and marketing objectives.

Experience developing and executing annual strategic recruitment plans including strategies for select populations based on geography and/or demographics. Strong organizational skills, program assessment, and budget experience preferred. Serve collaboratively with other associate director in absence of director.
