Job Summary:

Responsibilities: 1) Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Recreation Management and Recreational Therapy, and Leisure Studies. 2) Develop and maintain a scholarly research agenda, mentor guide undergraduate and graduate student research in an area of expertise, and seek some external funding to support line of research. Having a planned research agenda in areas aligned with the program existing strengths in preferred; however, all areas of expertise will be considered. Existing strengths within the department include treatment interventions for depression, chemical dependency, dementia care, legislative (rulemaking) in recreational therapy, physical rehabilitation interventions, and various other areas in recreational therapy, community engagement, and program evaluation. 3) Provide service in the School, College, and University; participate in the lives of people in the community and state. The School Head may assign other duties.

Position Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D./Ed.D. in Recreational Therapy.
A history of teaching in higher education setting; evidence of research or other scholarly activity, evidence of ability to mentor students ability to work cooperatively with faculty and staff in diverse academic programs, and demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills which promote collegiality and collaboration. Applications engaged in interdisciplinary work, who can foster scholarly connections among current department faculty, and university will be especially competitive. Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate consistency with the land grant mission of the University through integrated, high-quality teaching, research, and outreach that promotes human and economic development in the lives of people in Oklahoma, the nation, and the world. Strong candidates will enhance the research and grant portfolio of the department, be committee to quality teaching and mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students, and value service to community.
