Job Summary:

To assure access to OSU programs and services by providing sign language interpreting services in the classroom, for class-related requirements, and for campus activities/events. Coordinate all functions related to hiring, evaluating, scheduling, and orienting additional sign language interpreters/CART for on-campus needs. Provide services to students with disabilities related to classroom accommodations for students who are deaf/hard-of-hearing. Consult with faculty and staff regarding teaching methods and use of equipment that impact inclusion of students who are deaf/hard-of-hearing; also regarding etiquette, and deaf issues.

Education & Experience

Position Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma/GED and four years of related experience; OR two years of post-secondary education and two years of related experience; OR a Bachelor's degree and no previous experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Special Ed, Rehab. Counseling or related field.

One year of post-secondary experience. 

RID or QAST level 4/5 or demonstrated equivalent.
