Cleans assigned areas to include offices, meeting rooms,
public areas, hallways, stairs, escalators, retail shops. Cleaning is
defined to include vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, hard floor maintenance,
dusting, waxing, polishing office furniture, brass, and cleaning woodwork, and
emptying trash. Utilizes assigned equipment and fills out work order forms
detailing equipment and any other problems and any other conditions requiring maintenance.
Cleans assigned areas per direction of Assistant Custodian Foreman,
Housekeeping Foreman, and Assistant Director of Building Operations for Student
Union. Other duties as assigned.

Work involves walking, talking, hearing, using hands to

Position requires the ability to lift, push, and/or pull up
to 50 lbs. This position is heavy in manual labor and requires the physical
ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and in excess of 50 pounds
Position presents potential exposure to cleaning supplies if
not used properly.
Two years related work experience may be substituted for
each year reduction in education.
Must be able to follow oral and written instructions. Must
be available for call in or for emergency help when needed.
One year of experience in housekeeping, floor cleaning, tile/carpet upkeep,
wood surface cleaning.
