Job Summary:

Maintain assigned areas in a clean and orderly condition in accordance with Student Union Custodial Standards. Will clean all areas of the Student Union as assigned by Student Union Custodial Department, which included but not limited to offices, meeting rooms, public areas, hallways, elevators, stairs, and surrounding areas. Other duties as assigned.

This position is heavy in manual labor and requires the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and in excess of 50 pounds occasionally. Requires the use of proper ergonomics and the ability to lift, push, and pull. 

Position presents exposure to cleaning supplies, which may present a hazard if not used properly.

Education & Experience

Position Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

High School/GED with related experience.

Able to follow oral and written instructions.

The ability to read and understand MSDS sheets and the department directives.

Preferred Qualifications:

One year of experience.

Experience in housekeeping, floor cleaning, tile/carpet upkeep, wood surface cleaning.
